All Blacks fern

Up until 1986, the All Blacks Silver Fern had changed many times, but had no trademark protection. The New Zealand Rugby Union was advised to produce a unique device which would brand the team and give the Union new merchandising opportunities. Dave Clark was commissioned to design a new and distinctive visual device, creating a design that has now become a world-famous trademark for New Zealand’s national sport, as well as a national emblem.
